Candle Lighting and Burning Tips:
To ensure an even and safe burn of your unity candles during your ceremony, be sure to keep the following in mind as you set up for your celebration:
- Candles burn much quicker near any source of air flow; try to keep your unity candle as far away as possible from vents, open windows, or ceiling fans during your ceremony.
- It's also a good idea to trim the wick of any new candle to about 1/4" or less. This will create a slightly smaller flame, reduce smoke, and greatly extend the life of the candle.
- While most churches and wedding venues permit unity candles, there are exceptions, and many locations have strong restrictions about where and when candle burning is permitted. Be sure to check with your venue ahead of time.
- Stabilize your candle and help minimize dripping with an attractive unity candle holder.
